England

We arrived in London after a very uneventful fast eurostar train ride. We had arranged a hire car but after 1.5hrs waiting we discovered that the hire company rep was at another entrance. We immediately set off for south west England. We stayed at a little village called Potterne, just 30 minutes from Bath or Salisbury.

On the way to Potteren we went via Salisbury and visited the Cathedral and finally arrived at our accommodation in time for dinner.

We did give in and watched part of the Wedding before spending the rest of the day at Bath, a truly beautiful place with lots of interesting architecture and history (more later). Visits to Stonehenge, Avebury and Windsor Castle were also included on our way back to London. Inj Potterne we were able to have the traditional pub experience.

In London we haven't stopped so we will drop onto the plane tonight bound for Singapore.

Perhaps th highlight of London was having a May Day barbeque at Kate's for us to meet her friends and just to relax. A great day - thanks Kate.

We have seen much, Greenwich, Tower of London, Westminster Abbey, Westminster Cathedral, Marble Arch and Speakers'Corner, Changing of Guard at Buckingham Palace, Sunday pub roast with Steve, visiting us again, Matt had a tour of Lords, Oval and Jane,. Matt and Jacqui and kids took the open bus tour of the city. Today we leave at 10.10 p.m so it will be a big day.
