Arrived at the hotel at 8.00am this morning, which equates to 5pm Coffs Harbour time. Departed Coffs at 12nn yesterday so 29 hours in transit. Managed some sleep on the Singapore Istanbul leg so feel quite good considering. A bit early to get a room yet but when we do, we'll unpack and clean up but will avoid sleeping until tonight. Kate arrives from London tomorrow so we have some time here before the organised tour starts. Booked a boat tour on the Bosphorus for Saturday and will check out the main part of the city Friday. Our accommodation (the Kent Hotel) is well placed in the old city (Sultanahmet? - but not sure of the spelling) and a leisurely 5-10 mins walk to the Grand Bazaar - so that takes care of tomorrow. The tour will include the Grand Bazaar but I am confident a mere few hours on a tour will not be enough to exorcise the shopping demons lurking.
We are looking forward to the time.
